DescriptionThis replaced the Property Committee, formerly called the Land and Buildings Committee (see CC7/M4/2). It reported up to the Policy Committee (see CC7/M2/12). The sub-committee exercised all the powers and duties of the County Council in relation to: the overall management, acquisition and disposal of Council property; the provision and control of all office accommodation, equipment and ancillary services; the development and rationalisation of systems for the procurement of the authority's goods and services; staff housing; the County Farms estate and land drainage; the countryside, country parks and picnic sites; and the provision of caravan sites for Gypsies and Travellers. The sub-committee was dissolved in 1989 as part of a Council-wide cull of sub-committees.
