TitleLibraries and Museums Sub-Committee 1981-1989
DescriptionThis was a sub-committee of the Education Committee (see CC7/M5/1). It replaced the earlier Leisure and Amenities Committee (see CC7/M8/1). In 1985 its terms of reference were widened to include Information Services. The sub-committee was dissolved in 1989 as part of a wider cull of sub-committees; library sector matters were thereafter handled by the Libraries and Arts Service Advisory Group (see CC7/M8/8) but there was no appropriate Council replacement for museum sector matters until 1991 when the Libraries Arts and Museums Service Advisory Group was established (see CC7/M8/9).
