TitleDevelopment Control Panel 1981-1985
DescriptionThis panel partly replaced the Planning Committee (see CC7/M9/1) and reported to the Planning and Research sub-committee (see CC7/M9/2). The panel's purposes were (1) to exercise the County Council's powers to control development in accordance with statutory legislation, (2) to respond to any consultation made in accordance with the New Towns Act, and (3) to exercise the Council's powers and duties in relation to Local Plans and the conservation of the historic built environment. The panel was dissolved in 1985 and was replaced by the Development Control sub-committee (see CC7/M9/5).
