TitleDevelopment Control Sub-Committee 1985-1988
DescriptionThis sub-committee replaced the Development Control Panel (see CC7/M9/4) and reported to the Policy Committee (see CC7/M2/12). The powers and duties of the sub-committee were (1) to exercise the County Council's powers to control development, (2) to respond to consultations made in accordance with the New Towns Act, and (3) to exercise the County Council's powers in relation to local plans and the conservation of the built environment. It could not review policy or make policy recommendations directly to the Policy Committee; this power instead rested with the Planning sub-committee (see CC7/M9/3). The sub-committee was dissolved in 1988 and replaced by the Land Use Planning Committee (see CC7/M9/6).
