TitleDevelopment Control Committee 1989-2012
DescriptionThis committee replaced the Land Use Planning Sub-Committee (see CC7/M9/6) and originally reported to the Policy Committee (see CC7/M2/12). The committee exercised the County Council's powers in relation to development control, local plans, commons registration, mineral plans, land use planning, and the determining of planning applications for developments on County Council land. It did not exercise any powers over strategic land use planning (including the County Structure Plan) as that was the responsibility of the Policy Committee and Full Council; nor did it determine purely local planning applications, as these were determined by the relevant district or city council. The committee also dealt with all planning applications on County Council land. It comprised members from all the political groups represented on the Council. The committee was dissolved at the end of 2012 and was replaced in 2013 by the Planning Committee (see CC7/M9/11).
