Description(1) Sir Thomas Cotton, Connington, Bart. (2) John Cotton, Esq., son and heir app. of (1) (3) Sir Thomas Soames, Kt., Alderman of the City of London. Walter Chetwin, Ingestree, Staffs, Esq Robert Bernard, Huntingdon, Esq. (1) agrees with (3). Manor of Hemington in Stilton, with apps. Manor of Denton with apps. and Advowson of Denton Church; Talbott Inne with apps in Stilton. All lands etc. of the said Mannors, and other lands of (1) in Stilton, Denton, Folksworth, Caldicott, Yaxley, Godmanchester and Huntingdon. To be to the following uses: To use of (1) for life, then to use of (2) for life, then to the heirs male of (2) and Dorothy, his wife; if none to the lawful heirs male of the body of (2); if none to heirs male of (1); if none to right heirs of (1). Recites (1) being seised in fee tail male to the Manor of Steeple Gidding with apps. and Advowson of Church of Steeple Gidding and lands in Steeple G. and Hammerton. Now (1) agrees with (3) that he will not levy any fine or recovery or any act that will hinder (2) or his issue male from having the said manor and lands immediately after the death of (1), as it came to (1) from Thomas Cotton late of Steeple G., Esq., decd., uncle of (1). Provided that re. the £4,000 charged to the Mannors and premises in Steeple G. and Hamerton payable to Jane Cotton dau of John C., gent, decd., if (1) borrows money to pay it, he may charge the said Manor and premises with the amount. (1) agrees with (2) to levy a fine of the said Manor and premises in Gidding and Hamerton to the use of (1) for life, then to use of (2) for life and his heirs male; If none to heirs male of (1); if none to right heirs of (1), subject to the expressed charge of money.
