Description(1) William Fitzherbert, Swinnerton, Staffs, Esq. and Sir John Fitzherbert, Norbury, Derbys. Kt. (2) Sir Thomas Cotton, Conington, Bart. John Cotton, Esq., son and heir app. of Sir. Thomas C. (3) Bazill Fitzherbert, son and heir app. of the said Sir Wm. Fitz. and Jane, his wife. Recites: (i) covenants of settlement of 17 May, 1648. (ii) marriage of (3) having taken place and payment or promise of dower from (2) to (1). Now (1) to (2) for 20/- Manor with apps. of Swinnerton, Staffs. and lands in Swinnerton, Stone, Yarnfield(?), Beech Hatton, Thaton Acton Milne Meeke Walford and Bowers, Staffs. For 500 years on trust for the following uses: For William Fitz. until Jane's 21, or if, she dies before then, until her issue's 21, if (2) may have Manor of Gidding A. free from any claim of Jane. Then to (2) unless Jane or her issue, within 6 months of being 21, renounce all claim to Gidding A. If they do not surrender it, (1) shall pay £4,000 to (2). Once it is surrendered profits of Staffs' Manors to go to Sir Wm. Fitz. and heirs.
