| Description | Robert Cotton, son and heir of Thomas Cotton, late of Conington, Esq., decd., Dorothy Cotton, widow, late the wife of the said Thomas Cotton, Sir Edward Montagu of Boughton, Northants, Kt., Sir John Harrington, Combe, Warwicks, Kt., George Shirley, Staunton Harolde, Leics., Esq., Robert Bevell, Chesterton, Esq., Edwarde Montagu of Hemyngton, Northants, Esq., Phillip Cotton, and John Cotton, gents bros. of the said Thomas, Esq., decd., Henry Tamworth, Barnards Inne, Holborne, Middx., gent, and Christopher Tamworth, Greyes Inne, Middx., gent, bros. of said Dorothy. Recites: (1) Indenture of 19 April, 1588 (2) Proviso in said indenture that said Thomas Cotton decd., with consent of the others, may revoke any of the uses therein limited and such uses should then cease. And same proviso extends to his heir male. Now: Robert Cotton, for better assurance of payment of sums as Thomas Cotton decd. meant to have been paid to Dorothy his last wife, and his other children, with the consent of the other parties revokes the following uses in the said Indenture. The use to remain to the exors of Thomas Cotton my father for a term of 21 years after his death to the payment of his debts etc. Uses to be limited to my heirs in tail male. Uses to be limited to my bros. and/or uncles in tail male, or to heirs of said Thomas Cotton, decd. Uses to be limited to right heirs of Henry and Ferdinand Cotton. But not use to me for my life or use limited to my right heirs or those of my uncles, Philip and John. |
