TitleAssignment of Terms
Description(1) The Hon. Peregrine Bertie, bro. and exor. of the last will and testament of the Hon. Richard Bertie, Esq., decd. both bros. of the Rt. Hon. Robt. Earl of Lindsey, Lord Great Chamberlain of England. (2) The Hon. Charles Bertie, one other of the bros. of the said Earl. (3) Francis Bagshaw, Middle Temple, London, Esq. Richard Marriott, St. Martins in the Fields, Middx. gent. Recites: (i) Indenture of 5 Jan. 1675 made between (2), Thomas Cole, Soton, Esq. and Robt. Biddolph, London, merchant and the said Richard Bertie in which for £3,000 paid to (2) and 10/- to Cole and Biddolph by Richard Bertie, Cole and Biddulph by direction of (2) assigned to Richard Bertie: The Rectory of Tallington, Lincs. with apps., Manor House of Uffington with apps. Messuages and lands of Cole and/or Biddulph with apps. in Uffington, Lincs., then in the several tenures of Sir Christopher Clapham and others (named). All messuages and lands etc. with apps. belonging to the rectory, for the residue of several terms of 500 years, and 500 years vested in Cole and Biddulph, unless (2) redeemed the property. (ii) Failure of (2) to redeem the property so that it became vested in Richard Bertie by whose death it came to (1) as his exor. for the remainder of the terms. Now for £3,000 from (2) to (1) and 10/- from (3) to (1). (1) to (3), by direction of (2) Aforesaid premises and all claims of (1) to the same, with all relevant deeds. For the residue of the terms. Endorsed: Acknowledgement from (1) to (2) of £3,000 with interest paid by (2) to (1).
