DescriptionRobert Apreece, Washingley, Hunts., Esq. understands that Thomas Cotton, Denton, gent, son and heir of Thomas Cotton, Conington, Hunts, by his indenture of 20 Aug. 12 Eliz. I, demised to him (R.A.) and to John Brooke, Madley, Salop, Esq., and Edward Underhill, Edington, Warwicks, gent, all the manor of Conington with apps. late in tenure of said Thomas Cotton, the father, and all lands in Conington and Walton, Hunts or in Kerby, Leics., as in any deed of Thomas Cotton, the father, or as conveyed to Thomas Cotton, the son, for 800 years paying to Thomas Cotton, the son, £10 p.a. Robert Apreece now declares that he had no knowledge of any such demise and did never accept such lease and does refuse to have any part of said lands in said demise or of any demise made from Thomas Cotton, the son.
