Description | 1. Sir John Heathcote, Bart. 2. Thomas, Esq. and Jane, his wife, (Hart) Thomas Bowdler, Esq. and Eliz. Stuart, his wife, Frances and Mary Cotton. Recites: agreement of 1. at the time of his purchase of C. that the vendors of that estate should have the nomination of a clerk to be presented to the Rectory of C. on the next vacancy provided that the clerk so nominated was not under 60 years old. Now 1. confirms this agreement with 2. and promises that he will present such clerk to the Bishop of Lincoln to be instituted to the said Rectory provided he is not under 60 and that the nomination is made quickly so that there is no lapse. Enclosed: Receipt. 13 Nov. 1753 from Thomas Dod, Rector of C. to Sir John Heathcote, Bart. for £20, half a year's payment due to the Rectory of C. at Ladyday last, received through the hands of Mr. Robt. Mitchell. |
