Gidding now in the holding of 2., with The Home Close, part of The Hall Yards, 2 Cow Pastures, Townesend Ground, Ashwell Ley and Meadow, Great Meadow, Ashwell Leys, and Townfield: totalling 237 as. + apps. and Great Tythes. For 12 years from 5 April next. For £190 p.a. With liberty to plough 70 acres. 2. promises to pay all taxes, except land tax, to serve all town and parish offices and to do highway duty during the said term. To use all fodder and muck on the said premises. To sow the fallow with wheat in the last year, and leave the chaff and straw on the premises. Landlord to do repairs in the first year, including removing a barn out of Hall yards and re-erecting it. Dividing Townsend field and a small corner in Hall yards. Agreement to be reduced into proper articles within three months from now.
