Description1. John Heathcote, Conington, Esq. 2. John Henson Ladds, Steeple G., farmer. 2. agrees to give up to 1. from this day possession of the farm and premises which he hires of 1. at Steeple G. 2. agrees to pay all rent and taxes (except land-tax) due, on Nov. 1 next. 1. agrees to allow to 2. out of the said rent for the acts of cultivation done by 2. on the farm, for the ensuing wheat crop at a valuation to be made by two different persons, one chosen by 1. and one by 2., and if they do not agree, by a third person, to be chosen by those two (the valuers), and similarly for the clover or other grass seeds sown this spring and for surplus hay, hovels and other fixtures about the farm, which are the property of 2. 1. further agrees to allow 2. to have the use of part of the house wherein he resides until LadyDay next and such part of the barns, farm yards and stables as are necessary and customary for outgoing tenants until Midsummer next, and to be allowed to cut a sufficient quantity of stubble straw to lay around the farm yards for a shelter for the same. 2. agrees to leave the whole of the straw and manure not carried on the premises for the use of 1. and the incoming tenant. Postcript: 2. to have the principal part of the house and to be paid for the seed wheat, carting manure, and the straw is to be expended in the usual way.
