TitleCopy Court Roll; Conditional Surrender; Of Thomas Pettit, Chatteris, Cambs., surgeon, grandson and devisee in fee named in the will of George Pettit, late of Brampton, yeoman, decd., who was the son and heir of Thomas Pettit, formerly of Little Stukeley, yeoman, to William Atkinson, Huntingdon, publican.
DescriptionCottage in Little Stukeley, next to a cottage late of Joseph Scott and then or late of Charles Lucas, at annual rent of 7d. Messuage formerly Swinsins, since of William Thirkin and Elizabeth his wife, and John Richardson, and Sarah, his wife, at annual rent of 4/-, 9 roods of arable land at annual rent of 1/3d. All other messuages and lands of the said Thomas Pettit held of the said manor, reversions, remainders, rents, etc. On condition that if Thomas Pettit pays £260 with lawful interest on 22 April next to William Atkinson (being the same sum of money mentioned in a bond of even date from Pettit to Atkinson in £520 to repay £260), then this surrender shall be void. Enclosed: Manor of Little Stukeley 6 April, 1796 Memo: William Atkinson, Huntingdon, victualler, acknowledges receipt from Thomas Pettit, Chatteris, £266.10s. being principal money and interest due to Atkinson by virtue of conditional surrender of certain messuages etc. held of said manor from Pettit and Atkinson for occuring the payment of £250 with interest. Atkinson orders Steward of said Manor or his deputy to enter this his acknowledgement of satisfaction in the Court Rolls of the said manor.
