Description1. William Pette alias Paperelle of Middilton, Essex. 2. John Perte alias Paperelle, his son; George; George Spottylle, Middilton, Edmond Revole, Barlyng, John Benye, Midilton. All that messuage with adjacent yards and 3 crofts of land with walls hedges and ditches and all other apps. called Paperelles lying in the parish of Prittlewelle, between the King's highway leading from the marketplace of Prittlewelle towards Hadleigh from the south and a certain lane called Northland on the east and the land of the Priory and Convent of Prittlewell on the east and north, which was lately held by Wm. Spottille of Middilton, the elder, Thomas Wodeward, the younger, and James Hauk of Prittlewell, decd of the grant of John Makerte of Sudbery, Essex, and Stephen Spottylle of Middilton. Witnesses: William Walker, clerk and curate of Prittlewelle; Walter Poor; John Spuer; John Braye; of Middilton and others. Endorsed: XXII Henry VI 1443 - seems to be wrong.
