TitleParticular of the possessions of the former priory of Huntingdon.
DescriptionSeveral tenements with their apps. in Great Stewkeley. All that messuage, 1 close, 1 pightle and 12a. of land with apps. now or late in tenure of Edward Chanter at yearly rent of 12/-; all that other messuage and 60a. of arable land and 1 close and 1 pightle with apps. now or late in tenure of W. Abbott at yearly rent of 27/-; and 1 croft and 1a. of land with apps. now or late in tenure of William Barrett at yearly rent of 14d; and also 1 other cottage and 3a. land with apps. now or late in the tenure of Richard Robbyns at a yearly rent of 8/-; and all that messuage and 6a. with apps. now or late in the tenure of John Hutchin at a yearly rent of 6/-; all which premises in Great Stewkelly (except the trees, woods, mines, and quarries there), were leased and demised to Richard Tryce by letters patent of Q. Eliz. of 9 May, 1570, for a term of 21(?) years, paying a total yearly rent of 54/2d. Tryce to do repairs. Annual rent 54/4d. Delivered to Robert Thorpe 11 Feb. 1583. Note: There are in the book from which the above was transcribed 2 other particulars as to Great Stewkley of premises formerly belonging to Huntingdon Priory, viz. one dated 1586, of a tenement and lands value 50/- p.a., and another 1577 of a tenement and lands value 50/- p.a. these tog. make up within a few shs. the value in the Ministers' Accounts.
