TitleCotton v. Cotton Bill of Complaint of Sir John Cotton, Bart., Administrator of the goods of John Cotton, Esq., his late father decd.
DescriptionSir Thomas Cotton, complainant's great grandfather being seized of several Manors and especially in the several closes called The Great Wake, Stampalls Meadow, Thurloe, Allpitts and 2 Meadows with apps. in Gidding A. als Steeple G. and Hamerton, by indentures of 20 June, 1654 and 12 Nov. and 12 Dec., 1659, did declare said closes to use of Alice C. his youngest dau., to raise £1,000, then for benefit of John Cotton, son of Sir Thomas for life, then to John Cotton, his son, complainant's grandfather and his heirs male. Now Robert Cotton has taken possession of them and refuses to come to any account with complainant. He is combined with Alice C., now Dame Monoux and ?? Pedley, surviving trustee to defraud complainant who is powerless except by assistance of a Court to make them give answer and to give complainant release in the premises. Endorsed: Upon answers being put in Sir John dropt the Cause and gave the Release of 1713 to his Uncle Robert.
