TitleJohn Heathcote's comments on the recent Chancery Decree
DescriptionHe is opposed to it because he does not think that Chancery should have the whole management of the property. Nor should it administer the surplus of the personal estate which the guardians are directed by the will to use for the maintenance of Sir Gilbert. Chancery was supposed merely to ascertain the state of the legacies so as to prevent disputes between the younger children - to appoint their guardians, and fix their maintenances. But cannot agree with the Court making the will and as the acting exor. does not think that he will submit to it, as he is determined to live up to the spirit of his intention.
