Title | Letters Bigoe Charles Williams, Lincoln's Inn, to John Heathcote, Conington Castle (both exors. of the estate.) |
Description | Re. the settling up of Lady Anne's estate. An outstanding question is that of the dividends due to Mary H's estate. One letter includes the opinion of counsel (Mr. Hart) who feels that the dividends need not be repaid, which is contrary to Mr. Trower's opinion. Williams feels that Greenwood and Cox's account for the pension paid twice to Lady Hamilton, must be paid. All the legatees are paid, including Sir Fredk. The last letter, of 23 Apr. 1823, concerns the raising of money to pay the duty on Lady H's residuary estate so that it may be paid out to the 2 heirs, Eliza Ann Hamilton, now married to Wm. Harding, Esq., and her bro. Robt., now 21. Note in this last letter that Williams has been staying with Lady O.B. Sparrow at Brampton. |
