TitleLetter from Rev. R.C.M(acLeod), Mitford Vicarage, Morpeth late Rector of Conington, to (J.M.) Heathcote, re. stipend of Conington Rector.
DescriptionMacleod was informed by the Rev. George H. his predecessor at Conington, that the tithe was commuted at £450, £425 being paid to the Rector and the owner paying the rates, an arrangement very advantageous to the Rector and which he suggests might be altered at the next change of incumbency. Suggests that Heathcote gets the full details from the Tithe Apportionment Office in St. James' Sq. Has never heard of modus at Conington.
