Description	They were delighted to see Montagu's letter in the Freeman - no one would grudge Montagu's time spent on the Continent but the insinuations in the Nation made his friends anxious for a word of explanation. Everyone is satisfied the absence was unavoidable now. My Smyth is now the most unpopular man in Westmeath - his attempt to break up the Home Rule movemenet has caused pain to his friends.
