Description1. Anne Paine of Gamlingay, widow of James Paine. 2. John Clarke of Folkestone, Kent, schoolmaster, and Ann his wife. 3. William Harvey Stace of Folkeston, miller and Sarah Stace his wife. 4. Edward Camps the younger of Wilberton, Isle of Ely, gent and Hannah Camps, his wife. 5. Jane Smith of Gamlingay widow of Henry Smith, farmer. 6. George Ellis of Edmonton, Middlesex, yeoman and Mercy Ellis his wife. 7. Samuel Woodham of Gamlingay, farmer and Ellen Woodham his wife. 8. James Paine of Gamlingay, yeoman, son of late James. 9. David Paine of Wavesley, Huntingdonshire, farmer. 10. James Paine of St. Neots, Huntingdonshire, merchant and nephew of late James. Recites: That James Paine died 24 July 1831 and that his will was proved in P.C.C. 29 November 1831, by James Paine the nephew. That daughter Emma married Thomas Smith Rose of Bedford draper and has died 16 January 1841 before reaching 21 and left and son Edward Paine Rose now aged 6. That Mary Ann Paine died in 1841, unmarried, after the death of Emma. That Elizabeth Paine was born after the will was made. That the other children livnig are James paine (who was 21 last March) David Paine, Ann Clark, Sarah Stace, Hannah Camps, Jane Smith, Mercy Ellis, Ellen Woodham. That the farming business was discontinued in October 1841 and the stock sold, together with the personal estate not claimed by Ann or taken by James producing sufficient money to pay the legacies. That the half the interest payable during the minority of the daughters has been paid to Annne Paine and the other half to James, the son. That the lease held of Merton College, Oxford comprising a considerable portion of James Paine's personal estate has renewed byJames Paine the nephew in his own name for £1243/5/0 paid out of the testator's estate, 11 September 1846. That the legacy due to Elizabeth Paine has been paid by James the son to James the nephew to invest and that the legacy one to Edmund Paine Rose has also been invested. That the annuity to Anne Paine remains as a rent charge of the real estate. That all other legacies have been paid. The lease for 21 years from Merton College is now assigned to James paine the son.
