DescriptionPapers relating to the Waresley and Tetworth estates of the Duncombes, Earls of Feversham, comprising mainly deeds of title to properties in the south of the county (the Waresley, Tetworth, Abbotsley and Eynesbury area). William Duncombe, MP for the North Riding of Yorkshire 1856-67, was created Earl of Feversham in 1868. The family bought the Manor of Waresley in 1833, and also owned a great deal of property in neighbouring Tetworth, although they appear not to have had manorial rights there.

The records were originally deposited at Bedfordshire Record Office in 1956 and 1974, but they were transferred to Huntingdon in 1992, together with their catalogue. The collection is an important one for the southernmost tip of Huntingdonshire, as well as for the county gentry as a whole, from the seventeenth century onwards. The records include: Waresley estate deeds comprising property in Waresley 1663-1858, Potton 1783-1842, Gamlingay 1749-1834; other estate records including sale particulars 1834, surveys 1749 and 1789, rentals and account books, and many 19th century plans of the house, gardens, church and estate buildings; also deeds and estate records of the Tetworth estate, mainly 16th-19th century.

Documents relating to Lord Feversham's principal estates in Yorkshire are held at North Yorkshire CRO, in Northallerton.
