Description300 soldiers sent to Ireland, taken their place at Brookhill Barracks. Been to YMCA, draughts, billiards and singing. On Good Friday a lecture with lantern slides and three hymns. Innoculated (knockalated) yesterday. No need to send bacon and eggs, but cake and pastry would be appreciated as none had since leaving home. Breakfasts are either bacon, cold ham, sausage or egg. Dinner either roast beef, mutton or beef pie. Tea is bread and butter, jam, raddishes, potted meat in skin.
