Description | Finney was an American evangelist who visited Britain in 1849-1851 and again in 1859-1860. He was invited to preach by non-conformist congregations in many places, including Houghton, and many of the letters sent to Finney about his British tours now survive at Oberlin College. The copies in this accession are of those letters written by individuals in this area, including members of Potto Brown’s family, Joseph Goodman’s family, and the Tebbutt family. |
