TitleDeeds and papers relating to properties in Ramsey
DescriptionThree bundles of deeds and other papers relating to a messuage in the Little Whyte, Ramsey, and parcels of ground lying in the fens within the parish of Ramsey. The majority of the deeds are connected with the following charities - Town Stock Charity (deeds 15, 19-33), Woolley's Charity (deeds 34-36), a messuage called "le Croft" plus six selions lying in Polys [Pols] Croft, bequeathed by Joan Palmer for the upkeep of the roads in the parish (deeds 3,6,16), and a messuged in the Little Whyte granted by Thomas Williamson to the Charity Trustees of Ramsey for the maintenance of the poor (deeds 1-2, 4-5, 7-10, 12-14, 18). Deeds 11,17, 37-39 and the sale particulars (40) do not appear to have any connection with the above charities, but all relate to lands in the parish of Ramsey.
Also an order for reversing Captain Henry Clarke's fine in the Court of the Duchy of Lancaster, concerning a suit between Henry Clarke and Thomas Trice of Godmanchester and the then Bailiffs of Godmanchester, 1617 (41)
