TitleOn the prosecution of vagrants (gypsies) by the parish of Kimbolton. Statement by William Gordon, Constable of Kimbolton, that he apprehended Humphrey Heron (or Hearn), Humphrey Smith, Edmund Heron (or Hearn) and John Buckley for wandering abroad and loging in Honeyhill Lane near Kimbolton.
DescriptionStatement from John Buckley that he had come from Covington and been to Tilbrook Feast and to Dean, chair mending. In his tent were his mother Quility Buckley and his sister Charlotte Smith. In the next tent were Siberense Hearn, Edmund Hearn her son aged 9, Charlotte Hearn his wife her daughter Sage aged 12. In the third tent were Humphrey Smith and his wife. The occupants of all three tents were related.

Statement from Humphrey Smith with further details about the family and their animals.. He saw Thomas Loveridge, from Towcester, at Tilbrook Fair. He left Humphrey Hearn in the company of Loveridge and Benjamin Smith.

Statement by Edmund Hearn, aged 9. He arrived in Kimbolton wih John Buckley, Humphrey Smith, Humphrey Hearn, Charlotte Smith, Sagy Hearn, Quality Butler and his mother Siverency Butler alias Hearn. He was at the skittles at Tilbrook Feast and played the drum at Mrs Catlins till about 4 o'clock. He saw Mr Gordon take up Humphrey Smith and Humphrey Hearn.

Statement by Humphrey Hearn, at great pains to prove that he slept in the tent with his mother Siverencia Hearn alias Buckley. He knows Thomas Loveridge who was in a smock coat and beat a tambourine at the Tilbrook Feast.
