Title | Letter; T.A. Willis, Normandy Park, Guildford, to 7th Earl of Sandwich. |
Description | Describes the process by which all Sergeant Majors of the Regiments of the Line now become Warrant Officers too on appointment as Serjeant Majors. The Kerry Militia has just been in England for training. He is busy with the annual inspection of Regiments, but should be free to come to the Earl's on 27th August. In a sham fight the previous week he was successful against a force commanded by H.R.H. Duke of Connaught, although the newspapers gave the success to the Duke. The present government is the worst since 1831 and always does the wrong thing, including throwing over the Rivers Conservancy Bill. |
