The first folios (1660-98) are copied from the first register. Memorandum by Thomas Dod that entries in the old register were in danger of being lost, so transcribed into the new. This note and the top of the next few folios (to 1696) have been eaten by rodents so that the top line entries are lost - so see first register. Includes burials in 1756 and 1758 for children from the Foundling Hospital. The foundation of the hospital by Thomas Coram (first children admitted 1741) had excited much public interest. Entries somewhat disordered in the 1780s and 1790s, with added sheets of paper and parchment.
