Title | Letter from James Currie,Kings Cliff St. Heliers [Jersey] to the Duke of Manchester, Kimbolton |
Description | Forwards some remarks on the manuscript that has come to his notice. Remembered that his Grace hoped these documents would throw light on subject of general interest connected to the times to which they refer. Currie has only had time to examine a small amount of the collection and is not qualified to to give any decided opinion. Could give a valuable commentary on the work of the reformation in Italy during latter years. The papers forwarded consist of some general remarks and an analysis of the 15 volumes. Read in the papers that the Duchess has reached the Duke safely and believe the reunion must have been joyful. Offers her Grace his best wishes and thanks for her kind recollection of him. Will be leaving for a relative to Ireland next week, his address will be St.Catherines Park, Leixlip. Contains within a note regarding the spanish inquisition. |
