| Description | The original wrapper (which is in very poor condition) states: "This sealed packet containing documents relative to the accusation brought against the Duke of Manchester by Dr. Lushington & Mr Brougham for the deportation from Jamaica, as aliens, of 2 persons of colour named Lecesne & Escoffery in the year 1823, with my preparations for the Duke's defence & refutation of Dr Lushington's 'Yellow Book' (as it was then called) if it had been necessary; should (as I intend it may) be delivered to the Duke of Manchester himself or to Lord Mandeville, notwithstanding All [...] in the subject [...] seem to be gone [...] merely [...] 1830" This is now included in M10/13/3. |
