Description | Addressed to Millicent in Nice [France]. Received her last letter, comments that she seems lonely. Despairs at being away from her and the children and hopes "to meet in peace & joy". His father sounded anxious in his last letter and was delighted to see Lord Mandeville when he then visited. Lady Mandeville's mother is at Hampstead to which Lord Mandeville comments that she "appears to always find the oddest places". Lord Roden surprised Lady Mandeville has not answered her last letter. Mrs Proby is dead. Mentions the Powercourts, their money and travels to Italy. Recounts a story told by Lady Roden told Lord Mandeville about the son-in-law to the Duke de Montebello. Consulted with Dr.Chambers who says there is nothing wrong with his heart. Has ordered a new carriage. Changed horses in Parish in the evening and could not send a letter to Verity to let him know her wishes but will write to him and can forward on the other letters to her if she wishes.
