| Title | Letter from Stephen Hawtrey, Church House, Windsor [Berks], to the Duke of Manchester |
| Description | He wishes that favour modern languages and science over verses and grammar could see him and any other Master when they have a class of Eton boys before them. They would see how bright and quick witted they are and think twice before changing course. He thanks the Duke and Duchess for not sending for Lord Mandeville on account of the measles which may be in the school. The boys do well in their diminished numbers. Lord Mandeville does well and is a dear and excellent fellow. |
