TitleLetter to Sir Robert Bernard, from his agent, John Horne Tooke
Description[Very faint]. Discussing expenses incurred during the Bedford election and £1000 paid by Colhoun at the start of the campaign. Sir Robert knows full well what was agreed between them and that Tooke has always acted zealously in Sir Robert's interests, although he has been hated by all of Sir Robert's connections. He despises Lord Shelbourne (who has been worse than a murderer to him) and pities Mr Townsend. He is satisfied with Sir Robert's declaration of friendship but all connection with his business should now cease and he will handover to whomever shall be appointed. He fears that Sir Robert's affairs will soon be plunged back into confusion and disorder.
