Title | Letter to the Duke of Machester, from his son, Lord Kimbolton |
Description | As to his being in debt, it is a fabrication of Lady Olivia's. He asked her for money and she refused but he never said he was in debt. It is all her fault for giving him large sums of money when he was young and leading him to believe that he could continue to expect it. He thanks the Duke for what he has given and thinks it will be sufficient. He would be glad to have someone to read with, as his mother has proposed. If he transfers to another regiment he may have more pay and in the spring he would like to go to Canada. |
