TitleCartoon titled 'The Modern Apollo' depicting violinist and composer Niccolo Paganini
DescriptionThe cartoon depicts a guant and dark Paganini at his last concern at the Kings Theatre in London, surrounded by listeners. The description underneath states he was "receiving homage of 5000 persons, gaining £2000 for a 2 hour performance" which suggests outrage from the illustrator at the cost. This poster is perhaps meant to parody another sketch of Paganini calling him "The Modern Orpheus". On stone by S.Williams, lithographed by G.E.Madeley.
