DescriptionComprising correspondence, mostly between he Duke of Manchester and the War Office but including some to James Hayes and from the Earl of Sandwich. Subjects include: 1st Hunts Rifle Volunteers, formation of a band, coronetcy appointment of Charles Strong, permission for drills on common land at Huntingdon, provision of rifle ranges to the Hunts militia, attachment of 1st Cambridge Mounted Rifle Volunteer Corps, visit of the Prince and Princess of Wales to Cambridge, appointment of Daniel Geary and later charge of misconduct, dismissal of William McIntyre, various other staff appointments, supply of equipment, pay, uniforms etc.
