DescriptionComprising:

Covenant to stand seized to uses. Between: i) Robert Viscount Mandeville; ii) Edward Earl of Manchester. Grounds called Bigrams, Catworth Grange etc and 7000a in Manor of Keyston (1 Dec 1655).

Indenture. Between: i) Edward Earl of Manchester; Francis Gerard of Harrow upon the Hill [Middlesex]; Lancelot Lake; ii) Edward Montagu, Henry Montagu, Charles Montagu and Thomas Montagu, sons of Edward Earl of Manchester. Referring to a previous deed of 1655 of 500 marks p.a out of the lands bought by Henry Earl of Manchester from Edward Maria Wingfield (13 Nov 1658).

Counterpart mortgage. Between: i) Sir Justinian Isham of Lamport [Northants]; Edward Holland of St Margarets Westminster; William Andrews of Westminster; ii) Edward Earl of Manchester. House in Hanging Houghton [Northants] and several closes nearby (20 Jul 1670).

Covenant. Between: i) Robert Earl of Manchester; ii) John Howland of Stretham [Surrey], son and heir of Jeffrey Howland of the same place, brother and heir of Samuel. (20 Jun 1681).

Indenture. Between: i) Charles Earl of Manchester; ii) Katherine Montagu, one of his sisters. Referring to legacy from their father. Several closes called Woodfields, the Priory House in Stonely, pasture adjoining Lymage Wood, messuage once part of Bigrams etc. (20 Jun 1684).
