DescriptionWritten by her daughter, Elizabeth S. Moore. The first, addressed to "My Lord", thanks him for his kind letter and contains an account of her friendship with Lord Frederick Montagu, the Duke's late brother. Mentions her own grandchildren and the death of her eldest grandson, Ernest Moore, of whom Lord Frederick was very fond.

The second letter apologises that Mrs Johnson did not know of the death of his father, the 6th Duke, when she wrote her first letter.
