DescriptionComposite paper register containing: Baptisms 11 April (1568) - 29 July 1597 Marriages 11 November 1543 - 2 October 1598 Burials 23 October 1539 - ?10 March 1600/1601 The earlier part of the register is evidently a transcript of September 1569, probably made from loose paper leaves, continued until transcribed again, this time on to parchment, in 1597 (see P114/01/02). Memoranda in the marriages and burials also state that no register was kept during Edward VI's (sic, rectius Mary's) reign between (March) 1553 and (June) 1559. A number of leaves containing the early entries have obviously been lost since the register was transcribed in 1597. Until August 1576 the entries are arranged by months; thereafter it is untidily kept. (Fragile: P114/01/02 should be produced in preference).
