Most marriages 1695 - 1753 noted as having taken place in Peterhouse College chapel.
Missing: Part of some burial entries 1640, 1642, 1656 and 1658 - 1659, due to cut pages.
Consists of two registers, dividing at 1693/1694, long since bound together. Entries 1538 - 1598 copied from a previous register. Includes list of 28 people confirmed at Fulbourn, 17 September 1639, with names of their parents and god parent presenting them. Inside front cover: Note of contents of the volume, c.1753 . Note that Isaac Barrow of Peterhouse College was elected to the vicarage in 1641 and ejected in 1643, by the Presbyterians by the movement of the Earl of Manchester, 1833. Sewn in at front: Small folio [? possibly part of cover from first register] with rough memoranda including note of Thomas Moigne's 66 years as minister and comment on same by the antiquary, William Cole, 1772. Cole points out the error in the calculation, as Moigne signed the entries copied into the register from 1538, and was only vicar from 1595 to 1604. |
