Between baptisms and burials: Copy of order of vestry that £140 bequeathed by Elizabeth Hetherington, late of Queen Square, Saint George the Martyr, Middlesex, spinster, to the parish of Dry Drayton towards a school for teaching poor children, should be received from Rev. William Hetherington, her brother and executor, by the minister & churchwardens, and invested, in trust to pay interest to the school master or mistress, for teaching such a number of poor children of the parish to read as the minister & churchwardens shall nominate. 4 May 1777. Memorandum of receipt of the £140 and of purchase of £139.15.6. of New South Sea Annuities. 7 June 1778 (sic). Memorandum of power of attorney to Robert Child, Esq., and Co., bankers, of London, to receive the interest on the above stock, and to account to the minister. 7 June 1777. Memorandum of purchase by the minister and churchwardens of £64.18 New South Sea Annuities with legacy of £40 bequeathed by Rev. Henry Haslop, rector, which £40 had been lent on a mortgage of the copyhold estate of Smith Linton of Dry Drayton, Robert Child Esq. and Co. to receive interest. 19 June 1778. Detailed list of the church plate, and of the land and moneys belonging to the parish. 2 May 1778 Certificate by vestry that William Hetherington, late of Queens Square, Saint George the Martyr, Middlesex, clerk, bequeathed £100 for the poor of the parish of Dry Drayton, and Thomas Coventry, esq., executor, paid the £100 to the Rector, to be laid out according to his judgement, and that he bought £165.5.9. New Joint Stock of South Sea Annuities, the interest to be used for distributing bread between Michaelmas and Easter yearly to persons usually attending divine worship in the church. 5 October 1779.
