TitleOn behalf of the church wardens and overseers of the poor of Isleham parish, Counsel Andrew Pemberton moved the court to allow them costs against William Brown and John Collin of Isleham who had given notice of their intention to appeal against a rate made for the relief of the poor, then retracted this very late at 9pm last wednesday, by which time the church wardens and overseers had accrued considerable expense in preparing their defence. The court refused costs since the original appeal had not been before court.
