TitleMary Johnson, wife of yeoman Will Johnson of Steeple Morden appeared in court and produced the following article of the peace, Upon oath Mary Johnson states she had been married to William Johnson for over 7 years during which time William Johnson has beaten Mary JOhnson several times, in particular on Thursday 28th September 1775 when he used a knife and threatened to kill her. Mary Johnson therefore craves sureties of the peace against this action.
