DescriptionThe Plott or description of Boxworth……. being parte of the demeanes of the Lady Ann Cutts. Surveyed by Matthew Hayward. Dated 26 April 1650. Scale of original: 13? inches to mile. Size of original 53 inches x 38 inches [55 x 37 according to Dickinson]. Whole parish of Boxwroth except southern tip [probably on part of map now missing] south of modern Bird's Pastures Farm, but including 6 acres in north-west of Childerley [marked 'Childerly Grownd']. Names of fields but not furlongs. Arable distinguished. Plots numbered with reference to a field book. Rectory land distinguished. Areas not generally stated. Boxworth and Knapwell churches and a windmill on the boundary with Lolworth shown in elevation. Much of parish in open fields. Conventionalised drawings of trees and deer in margins.
