TitleHuntingdon Fire Brigade
DescriptionGroup photograph of Huntingdon Fire Brigade with officials and call boys outside the Town Hall, Market Hill, Huntingdon. The 1890 and 1898 trade directories record that John Wood Ingram was Captain of the Fire Brigade. The engine house was opposite Marshall's Brewery in the High Street. Here the engine is drawn by four horses, and a ladder has been extended to the second floor of the Town Hall, which at this date was rendered to simulate Portland Stone. The Huntingdon Borough minutes contain the Fire Brigade Committee's report of the 7 May 1890 - "Brigade still numerically complete consisting of three Officers, Engineer, eight Firemen and three call boys....seven drills (including one full dress Church Parade) have been held during the past quarter and on the whole have been well attended by most of the members of the Brigade"
