TitleMr. Thomas Coote's House and Gardens, Fenstanton
DescriptionRear view of Mr Coote's house and gardens from a different position to WH/1/21. Five figures are on the lawn, possibly playing croquet. Thomas Coote (1818-c1912), lived at "Oaklands", Fenstanton. He was the founder of the firm of Coote and Warren, Coal and Coke merchants, St. Ives. He was at various times High Seriff of Huntingdonshire and Cambridgeshire, Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, and he contested Cambridgeshire as a Liberal candidate in the 1881 general election. He laid the foundation stone of Trinity Church, Huntingdon, in 1867, and was one of the chief benefactors of the church.
