TitleThe Ship Blenheim
DescriptionCopy of a photograph of the ship Blenheim in harbour with cargo and crew. The original photograph is captioned "This photo in commemoration of the visit of His Exc. The Viceroy Sir J.L.M. Lawrence. [John Laird Mair Lawrence, Viceroy 1863-1869] In the port of Calcutta, November 27th 1867". The Maddison and Hinde index records this glass plate as "Mr. Linton's copy of a ship". This could possibly refer to Colonel Charles Linton, J.P., of "The Hermitage", Hemingford Abbots, who served with the 40th Regiment in India in the 1870's, 1880's and 1890's.
