Description | The shop front of Parker and Son, Cycle Agents, of Market Hill, St Ives. A variety of bicycles and motor cycles are on display outside the shop, and the adverts on the shop front inform us that they are the sole makers of Cromwell bicycles, that they are agents for Triumph motorcycles and that they also have cars for hire. The Maddison and Hinde order book records that a photograph of Parker's Shop in St Ives was taken in 1914. The motorcycle on the extreme right of the photograph has the licence plate EW199. The registration card held by Huntingdonshire Archives reveals that it was a 1914 Triumph bicycle, capable of 4 h.p., that it was first registered in January 1921 and last licensed in December 1930 (Ref VL1/2/1) |
