Description | This building was originally the Bull Inn, which had stood on this site since the sixteenth century. The Inn was closed by 1776 (see 3909/1) when a number of tenants were living in this building . By the turn of the century William Markham's Brewery was in St Mary's Street, Huntingdon, and the old Bull Inn, besides St Mary's Church, was his brewery office, and possibly his residence, as "Markham's House & Garden" is scratched on the glass plate. Previously William Markham had been tenant of the Railway Tavern in Godmanchester. |
